Get into a comfortable position, sitting or lying down, close your eyes, relax and breathe deeply, (for best results listen with headphones).
The power of relaxation is often underestimated. Health and wellness live in a body that is relaxed and calm. Many scientific studies have shown the physical effects that stress has on our body, causing or contributing to many forms of disease and dysfunction including heart attacks, cancers, adrenal dysfunction, thyroid problems, immune dysfunction, digestive disorders and many more.
There are more and more studies now showing how health is dominant in a body that is relaxed and calm (the opposite of stressed) and how relaxation can bring your body back into its natural and abundant healing capacity.
Your body is a physical manifestation of your thoughts and feelings. Over time your thoughts and feelings get held in different areas of the body and can reveal themselves as tension and dis-ease.

If you are unaware of your thinking and perhaps unaware of how you are feeling (which is very common these days as we have trained ourselves into putting up with bad feelings), then becoming mindful of your body and how your body feels when you are tense and stressed or how your body feels when you are feeling relaxed and happy, will grant you insight into what you are thinking and feeling. Once you have awareness and insight into how you think and feel, then from that informed place, you are able to make different choices.
As you progress through this short physical relaxation, really notice how your body feels in the different states. You may even recognize times when you have been thinking about something and noticed the same feelings in your body. Allow yourself to become familiar with your body and the way it feels. It is an incredible tool you have been given 🙂
