Living in your mind can be an intense and emotionally draining way to live. If you are experiencing feelings of anxiety or worry, it is usually because you are thinking about a potential negative future. If you are experiencing depression, there is a tendency for your thoughts to be based in the past. I personally suffered from depression for most of my teenage years and into early 20's and then went on to experience increasing levels of anxiety after my first child was born.
Regular meditation is a gift that I give myself every day and it truly helps me to separate myself from my incessant thinking. There is nothing wrong with thinking, our mind is a powerful and useful tool. However, we tend to get caught in our minds and forget that there is so much more to us. I am sure you know somewhere within yourself that you are more than the crazy, persistent, seemingly uncontrollable thoughts.
You know somewhere inside of you that there IS more to you if only your mind could be quiet for long enough for you to hear it.
You are a magnificent being, and with a little practice, you CAN experience yourself beyond your thinking mind.
You can find a place within you that is kind and gentle, a loving place where there are space and ease. It is all within you.
Allow your thoughts to pass like clouds passing across the sky without giving them too much attention for 21 days. I would love to hear about any differences you feel in relation to your thinking mind. 🙂
